logophotoThe American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service-members and veterans.

The objectives and purposes of this District Council are, generally, to carry out the principles as set forth in the foregoing preamble to the National and Department Constitutions of The American Legion; and in pursuance of said general purposes, to create a spirit of fraternity and cooperation among the member Posts of the District; to mutually assist in the successful accomplishments by said Posts of the various projects and programs of The American Legion undertaken by member Posts of the District Council.
